Clare is a double BAFTA award-winning writer and director irresistibly drawn to compelling stories that speak to our shared humanity. An avid reader turned film-lover, she employs storytelling techniques derived from literature, drama and documentary to create authentic, memorable, visually rich films. Clare won the BAFTA Cymru Short Film Award 2016 for her documentary short My Brief Eternity, which was nominated for Best Documentary Short Film at the London Short Film Festival and Best Short Documentary at the UK Film Festival. In 2015 she won the BAFTA Cymru Breakthrough Award 2015 for her longform documentary Sexwork Love & Mr Right. She has been longlisted for a British Independent Film Award and EE BAFTA Award. Her films have screened at prestigious festivals including Foyle Film Festival, Los Angeles Women's Independent Film Festival and the Women’s International Film Festival in Hollywood, finding international distribution through ABC Australia and iTunes. Clare currently has a number of short films and her first narrative feature in development. Clare’s broad experience spans magazine journalism, marketing communications, advertising and film. She has worked with some of the world's best-known brands through creative agencies in the UK as a copywriter, scriptwriter and director. She is an Associate Member of BAFTA in Wales and qualified with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
